Mountain Goats & Furniture Huschle Tropical Depression EP

Rare Crate Digging Find: Mountain Goats & Furniture Huschle’s Tropical Depression EP

I was in Fort Worth last weekend and went to a little shop called Doc’s Records & Vintage. What a trip! I finally found a spot in DFW with an amazing selection of obscure 7-inch singles at great prices! I picked up a number of things, including a few unicorns. Acid House Kings & The Bartlebees Split 7-inch Single

Acid House Kings / The Bartlebees | Split 7-Inch Review

This unique little 7-inch single is one of two singles the Swedish indie pop band Acid House Kings released in 1992 along with their first album, Pop, Look & Listen. I’m not entirely sure which came first, this split or their Play Pop! EP, which was also released as a 7-inch. This is a co-release bewteen Cornflakes Zoo and Alienor Records.

For fans of Built to Spill, their 7-inch single for “Car” and “Girl” really is an essential pairing of two great early tracks by the band. Originally released in 1994, the two-track single showcases two great early tracks from the band, highlighting the unique sound and songwriting style they’ve embodied over the course of three decades now. As always, they blend elements of indie rock, punk, and more for a truly distinctive and memorable sound. With their early sound, you also get lo-fi rock.

One song that stood out to me during my exploration of this time was by a band called The Balloon Farm — it was, of course, their lone hit.

Morrissey | Everyday is Like Sunday | Promo 7-inch Single

Morrissey’s debut solo LP Viva Hate turns 35 in 2023. Today, I’m going to take a look at the second single from that LP, “Everyday is Like Sunday.” I’ll share a little about how a promo 7-inch single for the song found its way into my collection. I’ll dig into Viva Hate briefly. And I’ll talk about the song and the music video a bit more.
