Like Pioneers: Boggs

Like Pioneers

Like Pioneers return May 22 with a new album on Abandoned Love Records called Oh, Magic. It’s their first new material since 2010’s Piecemeal LP on that label, and it finds the band straying slightly from their previous work in that it’s not as rooted in folk. “Boggs” is the lead single off the LP. White Birds: Hondora (Video)

White Birds

Soaked in reverb, White Birds‘ dreamy psychedelic beach pop tune “Hondora” is just what I need. It hints of a day brighter than today; fog sits low outside my house and there’s the stench of a standard Northwest rain in the air. “Hondora” has a sunny disposition that is calming and relaxing, and there is a hint of sadness that keeps it from being overly upbeat. As I said, perfect for today. Read More »White Birds: Hondora (Video)

Twin Cabins: Cool Kids (Video)

Twin Cabins

Alpaca Sports

Alpaca Sports is a new Swedish indie pop band from Andreas Jonsson. Featuring Amanda Ã…kerman on back up vocals and a slew of friends on accompanying instruments, Alpaca Sports boasts a sound on par with Jens Lekman. “Just For Fun” is a lovable indie pop track off the band’s brand new debut single, which sold out a few days before its official release thanks to pre-orders. Inca Gold: Atom (Video)

Inca Gold

In their song, “Atom”, London-based Inca Gold filter their psychedelic drone through an array of colorful tones as vibrant as the new video for said song. “Atom” has a laid back beat, high-pitched near indecipherable vocal tenor, and a hint of nerdy-ness on par with what you might expect to hear from the live band at the Roadhouse in the David Lynch masterpiece Twin Peaks.
