Andy Fenstermaker is a music lover, writer, marketing professional, and entrepreneur who has dedicated his life to sharing his passion for music with others. He is the founder of FensePost, a renowned music blog that has been sharing the latest and greatest in indie music since 2006. Andy has always been fascinated by the power of music to connect people, and he started FensePost with the aim of sharing his love of music with others. Andy developed a passion for music at a young age. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Andy grew up surrounded by a vibrant music scene that left an indelible mark on him. He attended Washington State University, where he studied Communication and Business. He holds a BA in Communication and a Masters in Business Administration. After graduating, Andy started writing about music and created FensePost as the outlet. The blog has a strong focus on indie music, but also covers a range of other genres including folk, indie pop, psychedelic, garage rock, and experimental. Andy and the blog relocated to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in 2020.

Haiku Salut is a new band out of Derbyshire Dales in the UK. The instrumental trio is said to be influenced heavily by Yann Tiersen and early Mum, and you can hear that in their song “Los Elefantes”. I’m a car guy. It’s pretty damn obvious. I gave up my 1974 BMW (sadly) back in December, but that makes my daily driver a jet black (interior and exterior) 1979 El Camino. Though we have never met in person, Golden Bloom front-man Shawn Fogel and I have known each other for about half a decade. Back when he created music under his own name rather than the Golden Bloom moniker. Fogel’s music has always had a more contemporary pop sound than you’re standard indie artist, and I think it’s fared him well. No more is this apparent than on his new EP, No Day Like Today, which is a notable leap forward for the artist. Brian Kelly calls his music Americana, but there are additives that give it a twist. He throws in the terms “loud” and “gothic” on occasion. Until now, my experience with Psychic Ills (quite embarrassingly) is limited to a split 7-inch with Moon Duo on the flip. On the single is the chilled swagger of “Take Me With You”. This cool, laid back psych-pop has a tinge of the country peeking through the haze that makes me think of driving through southern Utah in the early hours of the morning. I think Christopher Owens‘ departure from Girls caught everyone a bit off guard. The band had enjoyed substantial hype over the past few years, and the music they continued to put out kept increasing in quality. But even with that departure, it seemed inevitable that we would hear from Owens again soon.
